ScalePrint settings question

We are printing large aircraft drawings using ScalePrint.  When the drawings are large enough to be split into at least 2 rows and 2 columns on our plotter we get blank areas on the drawings.  These blank areas are where it prints alignment notes (top and/or bottom of the page in the middle) and the note in the lower left corner with the ScalePrint information.

For example, we get a blank area on page 1 from top to bottom in the middle of the page about 1/2 inch wide where it prints the alignment note.  The note on the bottom of page 1 says "To 3" telling us to align sheet 1 with sheet 3.  The problem is even more severe where it prints the statement "This page printed by RailDriver ScalePrint, RailDriver.com Scale 1:1" on the bottom left hand corner of the page.  We lose about three inches of the drawing off every page.  We don't need these notes and the blank spaces are causing problems.

Any suggestions on how to correct this?

Re: ScalePrint settings question

B17guy, I'm sorry but I don't have much experience with SCALEPRINT but I know where to go for an answer, could share those files in question with me? I'd like to duplicate the issue here before showing it to an engineer.
YOu can send me those file via email at tech@xkeys.com attn: Liam

Re: ScalePrint settings question

Just talked with the developers, unfortunately there will not be an update. Scale-Print was optimized for use in model railroads and may not be suitable for larger tasks like the one you are working on.

Re: ScalePrint settings question

Thanks for the response PIE Liam.  We have come up with a work around by cropping the drawings as much as possible using MS Paint and printing them in sections.  If you want, I can still send you one of the drawings to let you work with it if you think you can find a solution to the issue.

I realize ScalePrint is not meant for what we are doing, but it is what I was told to use.

I usually work on the plane Wednesday mornings which is why I don't respond quickly.

Re: ScalePrint settings question

OK, we found a solution that works for us.  We simply tell the plotter to print one page at a time.  So if a drawing gets split into 6 pages of 30 X 36 inches, we just tell it to print page 1, then tell it to print page 2, etc.  We had been telling it to print pages 1 through 6.  With one page at a time it prints the drawing with only about 1/4 inch missing instead of 3 and 1/2 inches missing.

Re: ScalePrint settings question

Well, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.  This computer just did a Windows update and now its not printing properly again.  When we need to print more than 1 row we get these big dropout areas.
