Using X-keys over a KVM extender

Hi there,

I am wanting to use the XV-24 USB keyboard at the end of an ATEN KVM extender over ethernet. However,  when I plug it in the device is not registering any inputs even after setting up in hardware mode. Has anyone had any experience with this? Just wanting to recreate keystrokes so no complicated macros.

Thanks

Xanon

Re: Using X-keys over a KVM extender

This is a known issue and is why we created the KVM specific version of the device. Many, many KVMs are incapable of handling devices as complex as our standard XK-24 (or any of our standard devices). In order for it to work we had to pare down the firmware to the very essentials (keyboard only).

If you ordered from us we can do an exchange. Please contact sales@piengineering.com. This is the product you need: http://piengineering.com/xkeys/kvm24.php
